(2.8375 x 135 km) / 22 litres = 17.41 mpg (Imperial)

(2.3625 x 135 km) / 22 litres = 14.5 mpg (US)

22 liters = 5.812 gal
135KM = 83.885 mi
83.885/5.812=14.433MPG US

heh heh...Two diff ways to skin a cat.

135KM multiplied by 3 divided by 5 = 81 miles

22lt divided by 4.54= 4.85 gallons cdn

81 divided by 4.85 = 16.7 mpg

Basically we all came out the same, great mpg FB!!!

Very true. That is good milage!

135 km x .62 = 84 miles

1 (US) gallon = 3.785 liters

22 liters / 3.785 = 6 (US) Gallons (rounded up)

84 miles / 6 (US) Gallons = 14 mpg. Approx!

It took me a long time to remember how to figure this out and idooski has about the same answer, so dang it I’m going to post it any way!

For Canucks that what to do it the easy way, divide your kilometers by the liters & multiply by 2.82 which is a constant.

Thanks Rev, much easier than my way!

true Paul

This is what my sled gets when riding 50-60kmph on perfectly groomed trails and a good bunch on a rail bed

22L for 135km at 50-60kmph is not too shabby for a sled that is know to be a gas hog

At least now I know if I had to stretch my MPG I can :sly:

On the way back was a diferent story as the snow was 10-20+inches deep I burnt 3/4 a tank in 121miles with some wide open throttle lake slush/deep snow running

3/4 of 13gal at 121miles is ?

I rode with a guy who had a zr 600 that couldn't go 135 kms even with a tour buddy! He was getting around 8 mpg and that was some pretty easy riding. He could never ride where I usually ride, where it could be 160-180 kms between gas stops.

Too bad it doesn't convert pop-ups to no pop-ups. I won't go to that site again.

It is hard to get an accurate reading going by the odometer on the sled as there is track spin, more for some than others:). The best way to calculate it is to plot your distance by GPS, if you wanna know the real MPG. My 2 cents

We were 8 sleds

Everyone had 130-140km registered

My ZR600 22L
01 MXZ 28L
01 Venture 600 26L
02 Pantera 600 20L #1
02 Pantera 600 20L #2
06 Panther 660 15L

And like I mentioned it was at speeds of 40-60kmph and the trails were smooth and the temp was -1c

I am sure if the speeds where normal the mileage would drop

As was probably the case for my sled as I openned it up on the lakes unlike the rest who maintained a steady speed,I was getting restless and need a rush or two :p

My valves were also cleaned right before the ride, which probably help the MPG

try this site I found

I'll post how well my sled fared over the roughly 1000 miles we'll be doing on our trip.

Wow, you must have the only ZR that would ever do that. Every ZR I've ever ridden (and there's been alot) with was lucky to get more then 12. Most 600's were lucky to get 10.
