finally was able to ride here in WNY. after about 65 miles i started getting a bad vibration/humming noise from about 10 MPH on up..... i noticed both upper idler wheels had a ton of slop, so i have a couple bearings to put in. would bad idler bearings cause this? the reason i wonder is because after the humming started, it was bogging at WOT. all the other throttle ranges felt fine, but WO it would bog slightly......anybody experience this kind of problem??? i am hoping it is the bad bearings and maybe some dirt in the main jet... i only rode about 5 miles after this noise and only ran WOT 2 or 3 times for just a second, so i am sure i didn't damage anything, just hoping it isn't a crank bearing/seal maybe??? any help would be awesome! this is a new one for me

From the sounds of it you may be wise to check the driveshaft bearings as well.

hey,
i would say it could be just the idlers, replace the bearings and grease the bearing for the drive axel. what it sounds like is that the track was changing tension causing it to vibrate at a low frequency (1 oss-il-a-tion per track rotation). giving you the howl as it compresses the air in the tunnel.

but i could be wrong.

check around, it could just be a bad belt with a little divet in it.
