What a ride for the driver of the Durango. But how did the roof get caved in and the dirt on the roof? It doesn't really look like it had rolled. Anyone know about this accident? And isn't permafrost a liltte sensitive about the dodges? :D

OUCH!!!! Those pics give me a headache just looking at 'em. Glad the driver got away without any injury.

As for Dodge. You'll have to pry my cold dead hands from the steering wheel of mine. It was Dodge who helped resurrect the diesel pickup market when they did what chevy and Ford wouldn't do - put a real medium duty diesel engine under the hood of their truck. If it wasn't for them doing this, I'd be driving a Toyota or Nissan pickup.

Mxz7 you didnt post the best picture of all the one from the passenger side door. lol

wow thats umm.. weird the front end isnet damaged at all so the deer must have jumped at the window? still that would be weird so se a flying deer go into you window and it woulda hurt the person in the passenger seat

my theory to the brown stuff on the roof.. the guy had to go some place after he pulled over to empty his pants right?

hit a deer with my sled and not one scratch... and I killed the thing big time... Goes to show that dodges cant handle there deer.

It's amazing, the damage those animals can do. Don't understand how the driver wasn't hurt...that'll teach him to use that deer perfume!!

Had a buddy killed in '90 because a deer came through the w/s like that and broke his neck...only 19 yrs old.

I dont think the deer did that. I owned a 99 durango and a guy in tahoe hit me buy running a light. Both trucks had damage but he had a bent frame. The body shop said that the durango had a hugh frame and thats the reason it didnt get bent.

The pillars are also huge. So huge it obstructs vision of the road. For a deer to do that the driver must have done 300mph.

Im sorry ive seen my fair share of deer accidnents and ive never seen damage like that.

And how was the driver not hurt. If there was someone sitting in that seat he would be cut in half considering what the deer did to the frame, windsheild, steering wheel and so on.

MachZZZ I hate to argue with with you on this one, but hitting a deer at 75mph on the interstate will do some pretty massive damage to the sheetmetal. I doubt the guy staged it. from what I read on another forum, apparently the deer was running on the overpass above as a car passed... it got spooked and jumped down, right into the guy's durango...

jwheeler

ouch, i can see how this happend if the deer jumped off an over pass or even if he just hit it running, when he hit the durango its back broke when its head went through the windshield causing its butt to snap over the roof to flatten it down like that, thus the brown mess on the roof, when the guy hit the breaks after impact thats how the deer got flipped back down onto the hood, thats my theory.   , is it a doe? :D

Umm the picture of the cop holding an antler would indicate a buck... about a 6pt. I left out a picture of the deer's guts spilling out into the passenger side floorboards.

jwheeler, that is a pretty good analysis... do you do accident investigation for a living... or just as a hobby :D

Actually a little of both Uprider, how else can you explain how the crud got on the roof :D :D

UP, since you brought up the guts, I'll share this. We had a Camaro towed into our body shop a couple years ago that had struck a pedestrian on an interstate. There was hair and flesh embedded in the windshield and around a headlight. But the worse was when they were cleaning the glass from inside the car and under the seat, they found a chunk of flesh under the seat. Well, maybe worse than that, is that the owner of the car wanted the car back...don't think I would drive that car again.

Jwheeler - I've been trying to figure the crap on the roof out.. it doesn't quite look like deer hair... more like dirt to me... I like the updated avatar.... I just finished my EMT training myself this summer.

I will guarentee you what that is on the roof because i have seen a dozen times before, almost everytime there is a MVA with a deer or moose it will dump it bowels because of the impact on the internal organs, you have heared the term "getting the sh*t knocked out of you" right :D and i decided to use the star of life for an avitar for a bit, i like to change every now and then, grab it if you like it. ;)

I beleive that, my step dad his a moose atleast 10 years ago, in a new ZX300. T top. It curled the roof back like a can of sardeens. He was lucky. He feels that ABS saved his life, because it was on a 2 lane highway and there was a another car coming in the opposite direction. The moose hit him and he just sunk into the wheel well and hung on to the steering wheel. He didn't even leave his lane. He said the worst part about the whole thing is that the stupid cop through out the heads on his drivers from the golf clubs in the pasangers seat....

Does anyone know where and when that happened? I thought I heard it was in the Mpls/St. Paul metro area within the last week or so but those pictures aren't recent if taken in this area.

Twin Cities Area, highway 394. I am not sure of the date the pics were taken, though.
