i have a 2002 edge 600 with the m-10 suspension and after riding about 15 miles i notice that it feels springy.i stopped and you could lift up on the rear bumper and it would fall back down.like nottin there.if it sits for about 30-40 minutes it comes back up works fine again.i had it rebuilt, new gas and oil.the guy said it was really in good shape inside.he doent know what the hell could be doing that.it does it steady.has the remote reservoir and it was encased with ice that day.anybody know the fix to this or do i just get a new shock.[big bucks for those]thanks

I would make the guy rebuild it again, he might have cut a seal putting it back togeather or something simple like that. Does it have to warm up to come back up? if so it's a bad seal and letting water get in and freeze. In either case he should stand behind it and fix it.

Even a pro can mess up. I would give him a chance to make good on the problem. It's obvious something isn't right with it. If he won't/can't help you, it's time to go to somebody else..... I wouldn't buy a new shock.

this is the second guy and third try.is does`nt act up untill its worked.then it sags.if a seal is cut or something is wrong ,then why does it come back when cooled down???i just talked to him and he is gonna pull it apart again wed, nite and try a heavier oil.he thinks that maybe a mobil synthetic oil would stand up better.[no charge]thanks

I'm no shock expert, but I doubt seriously if heavier oil is the answer. I would talk with one of the better known shock builders for some advice. Wondering if your guy is getting all the air out? Dunno, that's just a guess. Send PM for a couple of email addresses of guys I've worked with/trust if you need to.

Make sure that you grease all the zirk fittings in the rear suspension. If there is not enough grease in the cross shafts, they will sometime bind up inside. I had this problem on a 1993 Polaris. The suspension would take a few minutes to get back up to normal no-load height. I ended up taking the cross shafts out, cleaning them thoroughly, covering them with grease, and putting them back in. Of course you need to remove the suspension to complete this fix. Hope this helps.

Something binding sounds more likely to me. Shocks don't affect ride height, they just dampen movement.
