well everybody always says check your compression when something is not running right but my question is.... what should it really be? I check it but what # range am I really looking for since every sled and maker runs a little different. I know what my 500's is but won't list until I get some #'s so I dont bias peoples #'s. I did a search but guess what I came up with? You should check your compression. The only thing I know is that it should be close to even on both so lets see what #'s people start putting out there

1998 Formula 500
1997 Formula 583.

Thanks, Budda

Last year when I summerized it ran it for 1 minute then checked. 133 and 135

After it first started screwing up this year cold, 128 and 128. Have not checked since the last tour of duty to see if it changed. Also both times I did not have the throttle open, did not know you were supposed to.

the 583 I am going to take a look at and just wanted to know what is good so I can compare.

our 98 500 was 135 out of the crate. I always tell people to check first, but I also say to check them right away and monitor the loss.
