WHat is the proper thing to do when you want to eliminate the oil injection as far as the shaft (out of the engine) is concerned? Do you put a block off plate there? Leave it bare? Or cut it down.? Thanks

I had a buddy who just left the pump in place but obviously disconnected all the lines. Personally, think I'd come up with a block-off plate.

Yeah I did that on on aold Vmax, in fact I just took the pump off andf left the shaft spinning there. I fond on the cat triples, you just remove the shaft and there is a block off plate for $10.00. That is what I am going to do.

Go to any Arctic Cat dealer, order a part number 0636-068 for the cover kit
and a 3004-286 for the gasket.
About $12 bucks for both and will set you right up.

Or you can order them from www.hiperf.com

I second with snow800.

Note about the shaft... it is also the water pump shaft so make sure it stays in there.
I am sure you meant to just remove the pump and not the shaft.

No, you pull the shaft out. You can only remove the injection on a 530 twin and on 800 900 or 1000 triple
The shaft just runs the oil injection on these engines. The 530 motor uses a fan belt driven waterpump

The big triples run the water pump off the balance shaft in front of the recoil.

Doesn;t the oil pump, inject oil into the pump? Issn;t there a check valves then it goes to the pump? Do I just cap off that part or do I need a different pump. My motor does nto inject into the carb boots.

I have done it before, All you do is cap off the nipple on the fuel pump where the oil goes in from the oil pump with a neoprene vacuum cap and a hose clamp to secure it and it will work like a old style fuel pump.
