: Yamaha Warrior Motor/engine 4 Sale
bjrjr16 02-18-2006, 05:46 PM I have a 1989 yamaha warrior, this thing is in great shape, has sat in a garage for alot of its life. It still has original tires and rims on it and they are about 98 percent on one tire and 96 on the other. It satin the garage for a while then a friend i know bought it. He rode it for about a month or so and put aftermarket plastic on it and seat because he didnt like the old ones. He said he thought it was smoking a little ( it probably was from sitting so long) so he took it to a dealer and had them put a new connecting rod bearing, new oem piston and rings and gaskets and had it cleaned up. He ran the wheeler for about another week and wanted to sell it to buy a truck. I bought the wheeler and am very happy i did. Shorty after i bought it the wheeler just didnt have any spark. I replaced the flywheel and stator and that was enough for me. Still no spark and now im not willing to spend more money on it to spark. I have always wanted put a higher hp motor on it. There is probably about an hour and a half on the engine after it was redone. The wheeler is in my shed right now. I was wondering if anyone would have any interest in it. I am not sure if i am including the carb or not, The stator does not go with it but the new flywheel does, If anyone would like to purchase this motor please pm me or email me. I would be willing to sell it as a package with the brand new 250 dollar stator and new flywheel(forgot what i paid, well over 100) aswell as the carb and exhaust. I also bought a new cdi box for it and still no dice,(i do have a wiring harness aswell) So all this i am willing to sell for a descent price. I live in new york my name is brian . PLease get a hold of me if you want this engine, Also has great starter. I would be willing to trade for other motors such as snowmobile motors or a wrecked motorcycle. The engine I was looking to put on it was going to be something off of a motorcycle, I think a crotchrocket 4 cyl is too much for it so something less than that. maybe a twin or 3 cyl but something with great power and speed and is not much of a gas hog. looking for either big polaris tripple or twins for snowmobile engines. I also have a guitar 4 sale and is in one of the categorys. It is a 6 speed forward with reverse and has a recoil with this setup. Thanks alot, Brian
rotax800 02-18-2006, 09:39 PM Hi Brian. I am not interested in the motor, but you might want to check your flywheel. I change the motor in my worrior with a newer motor & it wouldn't run. when I looked at the flywheel it was different from the old one. I swap the flywheel from my old motor & it fired up no problem.
bjrjr16 02-18-2006, 09:56 PM Thanks for the reply. Yea I have tried swapping out the original, a nerw one, and a friends. No dice. I just got sick and tired of messing with it and now i want to mount a bigger more powerful motor on there so i just want to sell the motor now. Thanks again, Brian

Not sure what you are smoking. They are going for 1500 on ebay and are listed as a value of over 1500. And with all the new parts on it im sure its worth more than that, its worth 300 for it to sit and me stare at it for 10 years. If you are really intersted come back with a realistic value.
bjrjr16 05-13-2006, 08:06 PM Engine is for sale, carb, airbox, new uni filter, headpipe, rear exhaust, clutch cable, throttle cable and block, complete wiring for a 1988. Also have new stator, barely used starter, 2 cdi's for a 1989. A complete but some wires cut for a 1989 without sheathing on it. an extra voltage regulator with wires cut, 2 switches one with cut wires not sure if i have the keys or not. the old stock stator. I am not sure if the old stator works or not. I had coil problems and a bad chassis ground so it all should work. I am looking for a crotch rocket motor to go in place of this engine so let me know if you have one. I also have a flywheel, Let me know what you need and where you are located for shipping and give me a reasonable price on what you may want, it ALL has to go. Email is bjrjr16@hotmail.com , Thanks alot, Brian

fast426 07-23-2006, 09:25 AM What are you trying to get for the whole thing? I have a buddy who may be very interested if the price is right. I agree the $300 was a little cheap, but over $1500 for a non-running Warrier?? That is way high. Around here (South MI), they sell for $800-$1200 in good running condition, price depends on how it it looks. The last one, one of my other buddies bought, not running, he paid a few hundred dollars for (I think like $200), but we put about $300 into it to get it running. I hate to break it to you, but stuff that doesn't run is not worth as much (and certainly not more) than running stuff, condition don't matter at that point.
So make a reasonible price and I will relay the message.
Thanks
