I spent the better part of yesterday attempting to purchase a new Z-1. I contacted 9 dealerships here in no. il and so.wi heres what I came up with.
LIST PRICE $10,499.00 U.S.
DEALER DISCOUNT from all dealers was in the $500-700.00 range
Then they wanted to ADD FRT & SETUP
Then SALES TAX

The BEST delivered price OUT THE DOOR was $10432.65
I was told by 1 CAT/YAMAHA dealer that the DEALER COST for the Z-1 was more that M.S.R.P. for an 06 NYTRO (8600.00)
I found a LEFTOVER 06 NYTRO clearance price at $6399.00 + tax only
WHAT WOULD YOU BUY
THE $3000.00+ SAVINGS PAYS FOR ALOT OF TRAIL RIDING TIME

Nytro all the way. Its now a proven engine/platform but the z1? who knows?

Buy the Z1! I wouldn't settle for that price!

That's flippin insane.
So if there is a Bigger 4 stroke, it'll be what.... 17,500. :cussing:

that price is gonna drop like a rock soon enough,,,, look at the mach when it came out. You couldnt get one for under 11,000$, now you can come across them brand new for 8,000$,,,, give it a little time and you will see.

Maybe AC figures they have a winner here and are going to put the research and development costs squarely on the consumers backs! Puree is right, give it some time and they'll be willing to deal.

at those prices, they arent gonna move too many,,, ,when the dealer has 5 of them sitting in his show room and none of them are selling, the price is gonna drop. They dont want to sit on them forever.

My dealer said prices are not given out yet on Saturday. Says he's getting one in a week, but does not know prices.
