Was riding in Gaylord this and was pulling off of the trail onto a snowbank in a tight spot to let some other sleds go by. After a few seconds the snow gave way and my sled laid over on its side resting on the handle bar. It did not drop or fall it was almost like I layed it over on purpose. Anyway I tipped it back on to its track and we sat and talked for about five minutes. I then noticed a large oil spot under the sled on the side that is was tipped to. ( brake lever side) Started watching it and it was about a drop every second for over ten minutes. Hard to judge in the snow how much oil it lost. I pulled the sled forward about 5 feet and it continued to leak for at least five more minutes. It was then dripping out of both sides of the sled. The sled was not tipped up for more the 10-15 seconds, I am new to the 4 strokes but could not figure out were this oil would have leaked out from just from being layed over on its side. I checked the oil and rode it back to the room. It hasn't leaked anymore since but it kinda freaked me out. Is this normal for these sleds after they have been tipped over. Also what part of the engine would allow several ounces of oil to run out that quickly?

it could be a gasket. With my honda outboard 4 stroke u havta store it on a certain side or else the oil will leak out of the carb I think, im not to sure budd. If it has stopped then ths good

When I first saw it I figured it was just from being tipped but the more it sat and leaked the more concerned I got. I just couldn't figure out which part of the engine would allow oil to leak out in that short of a period of time. I am just wanting someone to confirm that this should have happpend or is normal or let me know I need to replace a seal or gasket somewhere.

CHECK THE NEW SNOWTECH MAG. I SAW A ARTICLE ON THIS SUBJECT. I THINK THEY ADVISE AGAINST TIPPING THEM ON THERE SIDE JUST FOR THIS REASON.. OR CALL A DEALER AND ASK HIM THEY SHOULD KNOW HOW THIS WOULD AFFECT THE SLED AND HOW MUCH OIL YOU REALLY LOST!!
