: Who Has Snow?
SKI-DOO X 02-25-2006, 01:07 PM I am from Western NY, about an hour south of Buffalo, and we have not had any snow all season long. I have put a total of 23 miles on my sled this year and thats it. We have only had like 3 heavy snowfalls and they melted within 2 or 3 days. Right now the ground is bare. Im lucky to be employed at Holiday Valley Ski Resort because thats the only place I ride a sled anymore. I was wondering if it was like this all over, because its very unusual for my area. Do you have any snow and is the riding good in your area??
charlo 02-25-2006, 01:53 PM We have tons of the stuff in Northern New Brunswick. w00t It's getting to the point that I don't want any more, I'm running out of place to put the stuff when I blow my driveway. :cussing: Funny thing is if you drive 2 hours south of here there is no snow at all. Weird winter.
permafrost 02-25-2006, 02:04 PM Same here Charlo, 2 hrs south of here and there is minimal. Just north of me is 6ft+. It is so bad here ATV's cant get in my driveway as we are in the middle of a major storm. You might have to head north on a snow quest.

DOO THE DOO 02-25-2006, 05:48 PM We have tons of snow here almost too much. the CSRA is in town this weekend but I gotta work all weekend so I can't even go :bash: . Oh well its either watch sledding or work to afford to sled.LOL
wecker20 02-25-2006, 06:31 PM we have snow but not enough to play in unknown areas. Went for 130 mile ride today and we have about a foot of hard snow here but go south and it's 4-6 inches.
puree 02-25-2006, 10:43 PM Ohio has the same thing you do X,,, I was able to do some riding in December and then had one storm in January that I rode a couple of days and thats it. All my riding has been done after taking the trailer north,,,
NewfieBullet 02-26-2006, 02:06 AM North Bay has more snow then I've ever seen in Ontario, it's awesome. You can get off the trail anywhere and never worry about hitting anything. Even when you see alump under the snow you don't have to worry about rocks or stumps, they're completly burried.
I hope winters stay like this from now on, this is beauty.

snow4brains 02-26-2006, 09:21 PM Just a couple of inches in my back yard, but there is plenty an hour north of here.

CORY9 02-26-2006, 09:28 PM Great riding in the Parry Sound area, not sure how far that is from you.
DOO THE DOO 02-26-2006, 09:47 PM Well like Newfie said the snow around here is AMAZING and there is an old local named Gordy Restoule and he is perdicting that we are suppose to get as much snow as we have now again by easter but if we get that much it will be too much for sure and so far this winter Gordy has perdicted the weather perfectly.
permafrost 02-26-2006, 11:17 PM Doc what was that Chimp babbling about>> a dead recoil and bad tranny in the goat, LMFAO.

SKI-DOO X 03-03-2006, 09:58 AM Well guys im glad that some of you have enough to be able to get out there and ride. Yesterday Thursday, March 2nd we got about 4 inches here in western New York and i was out ALL night last night. Of course it is only the 3rd time ive been out and the trails were ok for the winter we been having, but nothing like it usually is. Well lets hope it keeps coming down....
C.P.SLEDDER 03-07-2006, 04:45 AM I live about 30 minutes west of Ottawa. Concidering the small amount of snow we got and the large amount of rain in January our local clubs have done an awesome job. The trails are in great shape. Now with that said, they are calling for 9*C and rain this Thursday............. I think that will be the end around here.............
JackPineLodge 03-07-2006, 05:20 AM Upper Pensula of Michigan is great! Long trip out here, but it has been done by others.

Push Rod 03-07-2006, 12:16 PM NorthEast Saskatchewan. Didn't have much before Christmas and now it won't bloody stop lol. In the fields/lakes there is a full 3 feet of snow, up against tree areas, up to 6 feet. In the trees themselves, around 3 feet. The last 3 days, we've gotten close to 1.5 ft and more coming down as we speak.

Any employment opps up there? Its time to relocate for a longer riding season.
Smokin George 03-07-2006, 06:57 PM  We still have a good base and the trails are still excellent. I"ll still be able to break my rebuilt motor in this weekend and probably ride for a few more weeks yet. SWRules
poor farmer/logger 03-07-2006, 10:47 PM We just got a little over 2' last week. I was out the other night, and that was the first time that I've really been stuck. Ended up buried in about 4' of fresh powder. Wasn't a fun job getting out. Sure wish I had that new track on my sled now. My stock track isn't hooking up enough in this loose snow.

<chuckle> Not much up here but seasonal summer employment. Alberta on the other hand has plenty of jobs and good riding too.
