I was wondering if anyone else has the same wearing time on wear bars for the track.
I have a 1996 XCR 440,, studs are 1" long. Weekends such as this past the snow was packed,, not solid ice but hard w/ a dusting of crystals on it. These conditions seem to be no issue for most my friends but my wear bars wear so much i can small plastic burning.. I chew off approx. 1/8" per ride, approx. 80 miles. What i don't understand is my friends say there wear bars last 2 seasons,, mine is down to 1/8" left after 4 rides...... Is this common ?? Are different colors represent different hardnesses ? Are there tuffer brands that last longer ?

By wear bars I assume you mean slides, right? Are your bogey wheels missing or worn or bent? Are your skid rails bent? Is your track too tight? Is your track aligned correctly? Is there a burr or otherwise damaged metal clip in your track? Are the studs placed correctly so that the heads don't contact the slides?

Wow,

I did have to tighten some bolts in the chassis so i have been down there and yes all things look good... When I have nice powder to ride in the slides so little wear when water lubes the slides.
