I'm fairly familiar with the 600SDI but know nothing of the 800SDI.
Could someone fill me in on the good/bad/ugly?

They only produced a Grand Touring 800SDI for 1 or 2 years. There was heat issues and a new motor needs to be designed to accept SDI. I am sure others can fill you in on the exact specifics. Craig Nicolson ( the intrepid snowmobiler) had one the first year they came out. Here is an example of fill up prices (approx)

mxz 800 $18
Xc 800 $22
800 SDi was only $13

They had all travelled the same distance, but the SDI used far less and Craig must of had 200lbs of saftey gear in his sled...lol

The new powertek 800HO's are damn close to the 600HO sdi's

Funny part is you do not hear of actual owners having problems yet you hear the heat excuse from others

But I have yet to hear actual negatives from an ACTUAL owner

I posted up a year or so ago about the 800SDI, local dealer had a non-current but when I realized they had dropped the line it scared me off.
Perhaps there weren't alot sold that's why you do not hear enough feedback.

Does the dealer (name please) still have it?
I know the fact that they only made it for 2 years then went back to carbs seems a little wonky to me too.

It was The Cove in Mactier, don't recall seeing it there this fall when we bought the wifes sled, but worth a call.
