I myself find it hard to decide, they are all soooo ugly. I guess I would have to say the RX-1.

I have to say the REV, even though it may ride great, it looks pretty bad by my standards :(

I think all three of those sleds are fine. They arnt that bad. I doubt I would buy one. But not by any means terrible.

The black (charcoal  ) RX-1 looks like a ROACH.

;) The REV :p

The Blade followed closely by the REV, the Blade looks somewhat home made to me still, just a hodge podge of Polaris parts.

Where's the Firecat? That is by far, uglier than the ones listed IMO.

well i say the rev even though it may be the leader of the pack this year.. cuz the f7 will leave the pack behind :D and i cant really say blade cuz i ride blades and they dont look all that bad but the blades are ment for mountain use not the trails that i ride cuz they have some power waiting to be unleashed! so my vote it the rev sry doo owners

DooZ
09-30-2002, 08:01 PM
Well the rev is so ugly it's actually "beautiful"! I think the rx1 looks ok.....you'd think for all that money that blades cost they could have budgeted a stylist to get it to look right. an earlier post got it right....."It looks home-made!"..... it gets my vote.... DooZ :D ??? ;) :(

AC

The problem with the REV is the snowflap, but since that's all you non-doo riding people are going to see then I can understand why you find it ugly :sarcasm: :D :blahblah:

WINTERFREAK

My vote goes to the Firecat!!!

( Even though there is no catagory for them )

Winterfreek, how did you do the post in color? As for the ugly sled award, hands down its the Rev. What the heck were they thinking on the back end and wheres the missing parts?

I would have to say the Blade!! Like it was said, for all that money it should look a little better. The Rev and the RX-1 have grown on me!!! SWRules

Some of you have obviously not seen an RX-1 in person! This is coming from an old tried and true Doo boy too. No brand bias at all!

sit back..... look at your own sled........its ugly. Every sled to me has something ugly about it. Pick the one with the least amount of ugly parts and thats the one to ride

Yes I am a Doo guy,but the Rev Just doesn't do it for me,looks wise anyways.

I saw a Firecat in person and it is not very pleasing to the eye either.

The RX-1 is cool

The Blade is the worst of the 4.

as good as the blade handles,it doesnt appeal to me like some of the other machines :(

The REV needs a hood, not a thong.

Machzzzz1
09-30-2002, 11:56 PM
Yeah the firecat is the clear winner. The cluttered front and the out of proportion rear with skinny track looks horrible. The Gap in the hood and the grate looking front grill look awfull. Machines like this are why i dont have rear view mirrors.

When i first saw the rev i didnt like much like how i didnt like the ZX. But the Rev looks very clean and well layed out. Much cleaner then the firecat.

The RX-1 is a great looking machine, looks very dangerous however its problems lie under the hood.

And the Blade is just struggling to look like anything.

Remember guys. These are my opinions nothing personal...

I wouldnt worry about the rear view mirror with the firecat... I think were all going to get used to seeing the side then the rear view of it in under 30 seconds followed by it dissapearing. I happen to think it looks good. how many of uys have really seen one on person though. I sat on one on friday and let me tell you it was a beauty. It has great lines, and the ram air cannot be called ugly cause it does serve an important purpose

HAHAHA. After driving the Rev last season I would love to know how anyone riding a conventional designed sled like the firecat could plan on getting infront of one in the twistys. And i dought they will be faster in the drags.

And the Mach Z is always up to the fight.

I cant wait till this season arives. Pretty soon we will all see why skidoo has revolutionized the sport.

It has to be the Blade, especially their new four stroke "Outlaw". In my opinion the Rev isn't too far behind though.

The ugliest sled is definitely the Firedog, i mean cat. :blahblah:

I think the RX-1 looks the cleanest of them all. Very nice looking. The Rev and Firecat are too much of a departure from traditional designs for them to be liked by everyone. Strictly love/hate. Depending on your brand preference, either one could grow on you.
The ugliest, hands down - BLADE. I agree with the earlier post. For pete's sake, if you're going to charge $15K-$20K for the thing, hire a stylist!

The blade in my opinion. With the f7 my problem is that it better be
proven before it said to be such a rocket on the snow.Check out all
the brochures on this sled, everything is estimated not real world
numbers.Oh well i guess thats how some of these companies are selling
there sleds now by hyping the crap out of it before we even see a production model ???

Sorry guys, if I thought there was going to be so many votes for the Firecat I would have added it. I don't think it looks as bad as the ones on the list.

I would have put the ZR on the list before the Firecat. I mean really, the ZR has a strong resemblance to a pelican if you ask me.

jdsmi
10-01-2002, 09:26 AM
I didn't like the newer ZR at first either but it grew on me. I think they're awsome looking.
One vote needs to go to the Polaris Edge Classic in silver. ISH!

I would say beings there are very few Firecats mentioned that not a whole lot of people think they are ugly

The REV is by far the ugliest...what's w/that contraption for a rear flap?? And that windshield, how many pieces does it take to put a windshield to-
gether? No Doo bashing here, I just think there are way too many parts in these areas...more parts = more things to come loose or break off.

I think the RX-1 is a pretty cool-looking sled. Will have to wait to see the F-Cat in person. As of now, I'm not liking how the hood looks like it has been pieced together. They should have just used a cowl induction hood from a '69 Z28 and be done w/it! :p

BTW, wasn't it posted that the F-7 is already beating the others in grass drags?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

ugliest sled = the firekitty, whats up with those headlights? Looks more like a birds head! That must be what a cat looks like after it eats too many birds! :D

Some of the new styles looked so ugly they grew on me, but a polaris still looks the same, they just don't have any imagination over there. Poo needs a new hood and belly pan design. Just my .002

Machzzzz1

If you look at the bottom of the page you see the 4 sleds. The firecat is Awfull but the MACH Z still dominates the style department...

The REV looks 3040 times better in person. Dont knock it till you lay eyes on it in person.

The Firecat is ugly both in pics and person. Fit and Finish is better then previous cats but is still of the mark.

The Yamaha RX-1 has great fit and finish. But skidoo still owns that department.

Machzzzzz, if you remember, the REV was out last season. So I, and many others, have had a chance to sit on and ride it. Maybe some day they will have their fit and finish up to par.

jdsmi
10-01-2002, 01:00 PM
Machzzzzz - I've looked them all over - in person- very close. The Rev's looks didn't prove to be 3040 tomes better in person. That thing might prove to be the best riding, best handling, best whatever. Big deal, not my chioce. It's obvious what you like and that's great but try snapping your fingers. Snap out of it man. It's just a sled.

Rollo D. Motoski

Frostbit, sorry for the slight. I must admit that a sled's looks are of secondary importance to me. I have been polaris man for last 15 years and have nothing bad to say about them, but bought a REV this year. I think it looks ok, but form should definitely follow function. The thing is, it should be a lot of fun to ride and being a designer, i'm impressed with the thought that has gone into every detail.

I think the Rev looks much better in person than in photos, but I'm partial since mine is on the way. Just the opposite for the RX-1... in photos I think it looks great, but saw one for the first time in person this past weekend -- black version -- not quite what I expected from the photos. Fit-and-finish was excellent though. Just my $.02. :)

Machzzzz1
10-02-2002, 09:26 AM
I would have to put some presision skis on it first (Just to improve the handling from the already amazing handling.) And maybe put a few stickers on it.

I wonder if it goes slow enought to go the speed limit. Somthing that sharp looking probably doesnt like to go slow. :D
