I need help with my 88 Exciter rear suspension. I was riding all day and when I got and unloaded off of my truck, the rear of the sled sat right on the ground. I have springs sticking through the slots in my track and I think it has come un sprung. I don't know how to fix the problem or what to do. If anyone has the answers or advice let me know. Also I have read topics on how to make your skis pull up more when you open em up. If anyone knows any answers please let me know.

I am making an assumption here, but your springs should hook into some sort of hard plastic that then bolts into your rear suspension,,,, either a piece of hard plastic or some sort of cross bar that connects to both rails,,,, this has simply broken and your springs have come out. Find anything loose under there??

Right now everything is loose. There are three or four springs that are undone. There are two straps up front undone and don't know where they go. I have never messed with the rear of a sled before.

your straps are limiter straps,,, they are loose, but still hooked up top and bottom (or should be),,, if these are unhooked also, then someone did some playing with you as these do not simply come unhooked, they may break, but not come unhooked. I can also see your springs loose as the main bar or spring holder has broken letting your springs swing free.
Pull it in the garage and find a way to get the rear of the sled in the air with the suspension hanging free (chair under the tunnel of your sled or suspend the rear bumper from a rafter),,, this will get you closer to what you should look like and you should be able to find something that is missing or broken,,,,

The limiter straps are still hooked up at the top but are not on the bottom. I am going to look at it as soon as it thaws out. I have a jackstand under the rear grab bar to get it in the air and to relieve the shocks. I am hoping to find something broke. Is it hard to hook everything back up or simple knowledge?

isnt real hard but you will probably want a picture to help you,,,, maybe someone on here has this same exact sled and would go out and snap a few shots of their suspension for you,,, I dont have one or I would have already posted them for you.

The bolt flange that holds the bracket on for the limiter straps was gone. It must have broke or a nut sheared off or something, but it was gone. I put all the springs back on the way they should be and hooked the limiter straps back on. It moves again. Also do you know if you have to tighten the straps or loosen the limiter straps to make it pull the skii's up?

If you loosen the limiter straps it will let more weight transfer to the rear of the sled, which in turn will make the front lighter.

Ok I have one more hole left on the strap. I will put the bolt in that one then. What if I unhook them all together, what are the sideaffects?
