Hi Guys,
I just bought a 2000 Indy 500 cheap, and want to improve the ride.I was spoiled by my 02 700 classic (m10).I've been riding my wifes 98 Indy 500 for the winter and found the ride was brutal in the stutters.I usually just run groomed trails, non aggressive, slow down in the bumps.I would like an improvement in the Sun afternoon type of ride quality.I would like to long track it,but may just stick with a 121.Could long tracking my extra 10 skid make it ride decent,or should I just install an edge skid or Polaris M10 from a sled wrecker?

How about a pps shock along with a long track kit?I'm not worried about losing some speed ,would rather not lose too many mpg though...Also plan on a tempaflow and bar risers. Thanks guys!

id got with an m10 with a 136 track and pipe with a riser bar be a fun ride the edge would be good too you might want to get a mountain bar to just for fun

a m10 can take alot more beating than a egde just a fun fact you might want to know the egde is a good suspension though the proxs are even better than both

I don't know how you could go wrong with an Edge conversion. They're easy to find, and generally cheap compared to what an M-10 goes for. There have been so many done now (ESPECIALLY GenII), information on how to do them is very easy to find.

From a performance perspective, there is no contest between an M-10 and an Edge. OK, fine, an M-10 goes through the bumps good. So does an Edge that's been set up and maintained on a similar level. Lets talk about hole shot/weight transfer capabilities and top end speeds...... The M-10 is not in the same ball park, period.

I had an '00 SKS with a stretched Edge conversion under it. One of the nicest all around performers ever.

I would not stretch an Xtra to get ride performance if you are also considering an Edge conversion. There're both about the same money to do, but the Edge would likely be a much more capable suspension you would get more FUN out of.
