Here's another one of my brother.

Sorry about the size of the last one.

They are both from the same day.

We got up at about 5:30 am on a sunday after a rather large dumping of snow.

We from Magnetawan to Port Loring and back on a good 8-12 inches of fresh powder and we didn't see ANYONE at all.

Best ride of the season.

Rollo D motoski, Happy belated B-day! :D That pic from the A108Q is sweet. I've never made it all the way down that trail, as Crazy b's 98 machz blew , a connecting rod let go and shattered the case :0: coolant and metal hunks everywhere. We only made it about half way just after the BIG straight stretch. I had to tow him back for 70 KMS > I was dragging him off trail at 80kms+ to get slider lube in the powder . This is what happens when your friends have too much free time on their hands, and you leave your sled in their care. The sled was supposed to be in the shed, not on it! They suggested I just wait for snow and drive it off, but with the winter we had last year, it would still be there!

jwheeler
10-06-2002, 09:06 PM

I DID stay on the trail.... but my sled didn't

Yep, it hooked a redpine, and all I could do is watch. Oh well, I'm just glad I didn't get hurt.. the rest is just plastic and metal. It's too bad, too cuz i really liked that hunk a junk.

I wont be able to hit that tree anymore.. took care of it with the chainsaw this summer..... it was very theraputic. :D But you are right Dan, I was able to put a nice downpayment on an edge with the insurance money. so it worked out ok in the end... its just not a triple, thats what I loved about the XLT :inlove:

DanR
10-06-2002, 09:37 PM
that tripple was nice but the look of that edge :inlove: I bet you had a hard time choosing between the red or blue ?

UPrider
10-06-2002, 09:56 PM
Actually it is a 2001 edge, and I bought it used off of a guy who was having trouble making payments. But I wanted that Blue/Yellow snowcheck like nothing else. I just couldn't pass up the deal I found on a one year old sled.

PANTERAONE

OK, after that throttle pinning bit with the Yammi, I had thought that I hadn't braced myself properly, and was thinking that I should have adjusted my position closer to that of one of those crotch rockets.

If I'm ever gonna be able to try stuff like that, I'd better get myself into better shape. Right now I'd probably just dump myself in the snow. :0:

Maybe so, but in the case of YNP, there is an extreme difference between rider ability. Many are on sleds for the first time riding along with those who have ridden for decades. Add to this the fact that bison find the trail a really neat place to lounge and travel. Then for a finisher, toss in plenty of places where if one gets even a few feet off of the trail, serious burns can result, and even falling through thin ground, or long drops that are normally marked by guardrails during the summer. I strongly believe in the necessity of the rules within Yellowstone, and obey them strictly. I'm even one that would quickly report anybody leaving the trails or harassing the wildlife. I want to be able to continue to ride in there. There are plenty of places to try outside there once I get my sledding feet back to where they should be. :D

Here's a better one of the damage. The dealer put a new front end on it and sold it. Not sure what he got for it. Insurance didn't want to total it. I got $2900 to fix it. It was a 98 ZRT 600 with 1500 miles on it. I sold it to the dealer for $600.
