If too many things are hooked up through the cig adapters, can I fry something in the car? We're driving from MN to GA in Junea and at any one time, we'd have something directly in one cig adapter and a power inverter powering something else plugged into another cig adapter.
One example is the portable DVD player in a cig adapter and a Game Cube through the inverter that plugs into another cig adapter.
The other thing I'll have with is the laptop so I can do some work along the way, and we'll have the GPS hooked up through it for navigation in some areas. The GPS would plug into the cig and the laptop into the inverter.

It would depend on how much each toy draws.
Your cigarette lighter is probably limited to 15amps.
I'm sure your fuse will blow before you exceed it's limits.
Hook everything up and go for a test drive.
You might try a bigger invertor.
Maybe one with 3 or 4 outlets.
Keep in mind that your laptop can serve many functions besides work such as watching DVD's and serving the same purpose as your GPS.
You can get Microsoft Street and Trip Planner and use your laptop as your GPS. Some versions have a GPS sensor that lays on your dash at the front as close as you can get it to the window. It plugs into your laptop with a USB connector.
The program routes your trip and allows for any stops you program into it.
It has all kinds of information on restaurants, hotels, touristy points of interest. etc.
Just becareful when plotting your route. It'll offer you options such as shortest or quickest. This week I was using it just to play around and it routed me on some pretty narrow goat paths coming home. I had chosen shortest route and was surprised it had these roads even programmed into the program. The ones in the pictures below were on a road that isn't maintained in the winter months.
Fortunately, most of our snow has melted and there's just some drift remnants where the sun can't get at it.
We sure got some funny looks from the Mennonites on their horse drawn buggies and wagons.
Have a safe trip.

Thanks Jeff. I do have streets and trips on it and I have a cord that hooks up my GPS right into the laptop. It works great, but I'll be careful when planning the route, thanks for the tip!
The nice thing about having the software on the computer and having the GPS, is that if you run into a bad spot, you can re-route right there!

Good one Simon.
They were probably upset that they didn't have their Maple Syrup booth set up.
