hello again. Well i found a suspension out of a 98 vmax 600 and i was just wanting to get some advice if it will fit into a 89 phazer. I know it will be alot of work but i just want to know if anyone has tryed this and what i might have to do to get it in there.
thanks again.

I dont have any personal experince but i would imagine mateing two different suspensions would be quit the undertaking! The sleds are 9 years in difference and all the technology is different. I would say you risk permanitly damaging your snowmobile if you tried this but still best of luck to you.

ya i know it will be alot of work and it might wreck my sled but Im gonna go ahead with it. A friend of mine wrecked his vmax 700 so he said i could have the suspension for putting motor in a different chasis. What i need to know now is how to get the shaft out that drives the track. dosent slid far enough to the left to let it fall down because i can not get the drive cog to slide on the shaft. Any hints on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Wanna get it done fast not much snow left here.
thanks again

You have to unbolt the chaincase. I am asuming you've already unbolted the speedo drive. I would start by removing the jackshaft assembly but, you don't have to it just makes it easier. Once the chaincase is off you slide the axle into the hole and tip it down then slide the track off the other side. then you can take the axle out. All of those parts may fit your sled. your old axle may not work with the new track so you may need the new axle. Some of those parts may be in better shape than yours so inspect all parts carefully. While you have the axle out, spin the bearings! If they make any noise at all replace them! Hope this helps! let me know!

well got the track out what a job had to hammer two of the drive cogs all the way to one side to get the drive shaft to fall out. I wan't to know if it makes a difference if you only use two drives instead of four with the new style tracks. other than the outside cogs they are the same middle drivers on my phazer it just dosn't have them on the outside. thanks alot.
