I am a few miles south of Detroit but I ride up by my acrage in Lewiston. Not too many places you can ride here without 5.0 saying something. 2 years ago I rode mine around the block and had a cop at my side door 15 minutes later thinking I was dumb enough to actually answer the door. ha ha :D :p He waited a half an hour for me to come to the door. I am not that stupid.

I live in Fenton. (South of Flint) I always ride northern lower or UP. Not enough area to ride down here. Or enough snow usually.

I live near Holland, work in Allegan. Ride in UP and Houghton Lake once in a while.
I was planning on riding near Allegan this year, but have to sell the sled. I just bought it the end of Feb. So if you know anyone that wants a 99 ZR440 Snopro and aluminum trailer, let me know.

I'm with Dooman. Most of my time riding is spent in northern Lower Mich. But since I am from just north of Kalamazoo, we do some riding with friends in Allegan Co, but there is rarely enough snow anymore to do it w/o damaging your sled in some way unless you get out there right as it's snowing. It gets beat hard.

zrfam...where are you from in Kalamazoo? I live at Pine Lake.

I live near Pontiac Mi. and I wait until it is snowing hard and then ride I-75, but only with a lot of gas. Since it is snowing, the cops can't catch you. You can go as fast as you want on the road and pass cars doing 20mph. It's a lot of fun. I also ride near Gaylord. I look to ride with anyone that will let me! It might be harder this year as I am rolling out a new product and might not ride as much as I want! But knowing me, I'll still get out there and ride a good bit.

tata, don't forget me, I'm over in laporte...when we get the lake effect the trails around here aren't to bad...don't know if you know or not but they opened up about 70 some miles of trail in edwardsburg, it used to be a private trail, but now the state owns or manages it(haven't riden yet). there's about a 100 mile(there and back) from just south of South Bend Speedway to New Buffalo, the center spot is about right at Galien, rode last season when we had snow and was decent. Also rode up in Allegan/Gobles, nice but gets crowed quick. My motto is "have snow, will travel", I go where the snow is period. Stay in touch, have big enough trailer to haul plenty of sleds. We also go just north of Dowagiac, get on right at Glenwood Snowmobile Sales, they tend to get snow when no one else has any, must be from the lake.

nothing beats the UP though, last march some of the trails were like a luge course, really sweet!

I live in Holly, just south of Flint and right next to Fenton.. I ride here when there is snow.. there is a great power line run a couple miles south of my house..

But I spend most of my time on the snowcross track. If you go to the Silverdome cheer or boo for me a couple times. It's great racing in front of so many people..

My wife and I live just north of Otsego. I ride mostly in the northern lower peninsula. As Idooski indicated, the Allegan trail system gets beat hard.

Maybe you can give me directions to that power line trail. Is it legal? I'm the guy in Fenton.

I ride sometimes in norther IN / SW Michigan. Usually just a day trip when they get pounded and I can't get to anywhere else close. I can make it there in just over 2.5 hours. Usually this is in mid December when I need to get my ya-ya's out.

Firstly,

DaYoopers where you at in northern Indiana?

Lick'inoutatheCatsDish-- Heck ya, you'll have to get together and ride sometime this winter. I just bought that new trailer(3 place), got the truck, and got my new sled (still waiting actually). Anyways, we will definitely have to ride. What where you talking about when you said opening up 100 miles of trails. I know what the buffalo consisted of last year, did they extend it? I never rode any further north than the "buggalo" in galien. Can you go further? I want to ride the edwardsburg this year and got and hook up to glenwood. Let me know,

I live about 1/2 hour North of Detroit. I usually ride in Gladwin, MI but there was not much snow last season. I'm hoping to take a few trips to the UP this season, especially if the snow levels don't pick up.

DaYoopers, you ever ride the edwardburg's loop?

my sleds are 1/4 mile from the start of the buffalo, we will have to ride sometimes. what do you ride?

dooman
10-03-2002, 03:37 PM
when you say the start of the buffallo, are you refering to the south bend speedway on 2?that is only 1/4 mile from you?

LicknOutaTheCatsDish
10-03-2002, 06:12 PM
Buffalo Run actually goes down into Crumstown doesn't it?

Tata, I was referring to the Edwardsburg area(on opening it to public-thought it was private), I guess maybe it's been open to public longer than I thought.

I work 1/4 mile from SBend Speedway, they have a fairly big lot to park. I haven't really riden south from the speedway, we always go towards Galien/New Buffalo.

they say if you start at one end and go to other end and back it's a 100 miles.

I forgot to ask...how is the edwardsburg loop, I've got the map, but haven't riden it yet, can you get into Lunker's alright...for their "BIG BURGER"?

Live just North of Lowell, so I sometimes go over to the Lowell/Allegan trail for a quickie. Otherwise I like to ride Cadillac when there's snow. And try to make 3-4 trips up to the U.P. (Newberry, Curtis, Michigamee, Manistique). But, I'm willing to ride anywhere there's snow.

:cussing: WHERE'S THE SNOW? :cussing:

Iv'e never ridden the edwardsburg trails.
Edwardsburg is putting out a new map this year, they have added quite a few miles to they trail. It will even has a small loop into Indiana. Maps won't be ready until Nov.

Well guys,

the buffalo actually starts at Green Elementary School in South Bend. Its right by the corner of Orange Road & Rosevelt Road. If you look at a map of the buffalo and find the very southern point, thats the start and thats where I am. I basically cross the road and I hit the trail (signs and all). I only rode the edwardsburg loop once last year, I started out of my buddies back yard and hit the trail (it was right there). But you can very easily make to Lunckers, Glenwood, and actually all the way to Grand Rapids pretty easily. I want to see what kind of changes they made to that trail, hoping it will be awsome. Yeah but come winter if you want to ride, call me.
