Good to see Polaris is again king of the mountain. Not to start a bash thread but they seem like they needed a shot in the arm. I have to admit thoughts of mutiny had been seen in my head this year. Maybe this will get them on track. :lookaround:

You are right Paul, but they've got a great chassis and the 600 seems like a winner so Polaris will be back

Exactly, but I do have to admit that the RMK Dragon is one sweet lookin sled. Too bad a 155" track is a bit much for Michigan. I could be a couple more years until someone get close to Doos numbers again, that is unless Doo releases another strong line next season.

My thoughts exactly. I was sooooo tempted by the RMK, but a 155x2.4 is just too much track for ONtario, and this new track will not be so easy to swap out.

???. I think you do need to say more, cause I have no idea what you're talking about.

The new Cat chassis is ugly, IMO, but there are some good ideas there. Has anyone popped the hod on one yet? THey could easily get rid of that snout and have a taller, fatter Phazer.

OH GEEZ! I did it again! when am I gonna learn to keep my big mouth shut! Simply meant not everybody fits the rev chassis, they probably should have kept a couple old style performance models. Yamaha went all four stroke, ALOT of people prefer 2 stokes. Arctic's new hood reminds me of something, can't place it. these are all little things that don't mean much of anything! If it will travel in that beautiful, white, frozen powder than it's an awesome thing!

Guess I should have investigated further. I thought Polaris was King of the Hill?
Is that the case or is it just King of the hill in that class (stock).

Polaris might have parred back their line-up, but the machines they do offer are extremely well thought out. After looking at all of them on the weekend, I came away thinking that Polaris is the only one offering a machine that would convince me to trade this year.

Ski-doo has some great ideas, like the tie-downs on the summits and renagades, and the RS machines are sweet, but who's stupid idea was it to go back to the sticky seats? I thought they had realized it was a dumb idea, but I guess not.

Yamaha has two machines that I would love to have, the RTX and the new Warrior, but sweet Je$u$ Chr1$t, did you get a look at the prices? 14 and a half for the RTX, and over $15,000 for the Warrior. Can't do it.
THe Phazer and Venture are even uglier in person then in photos, and they are not light. The Nytro is a nice machine, but the colours aren't as nice this year.

I don't know what happened at Cat this year, but God, they are not nice looking machines. The good news is the Crossfires at last have reverse, and they are still a sweet sled, but the F-sleds are but ugly, almost as bad as the Phazers.

Polaris's line-up does seem incomplete, missing the big bores, but the new RMK has all the bases covered, and just as the M-7 outshined the King Cat for the last few years, I think the RMK Dragon will give anything a run for the money. I still don't trust their 4 stroke, but it does look like a nice touring sled, and of course the dragon and IQ trail sleds look awesome, with nice ergos, light weight, and good power.
Hard to believe, but if you don't order a 700 in the next few days, you won't get one. Act fast.

IMO the drive to produce a ton of models and appeal to every fraction of the possible market is what got Polaris in trouble in the first place. Big bore market just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. The serious guys (or gals) who want the baddest sled just end up modding them out anyways. I hope Polaris keeps the model line thin and puts their effort into refining an excellent design in the IQ sleds. Let the McMachz wannabes rule the lakes. On the trail and off trail they can go nowhere that I (on a 700) or any newer 600 can't and you can unstuck a 600 easier too. And that Rev's got NOTHING on the IQ as far as ride and bump control go.
There. This thread has officially gone to where it could only go.

Yep it's gone there.
I see you must have had a sheltered life. Sorry but I'll admit my buddy's Dragon is a slightly better handling sled on the trail. It handles the fast corners just a tad better. But thats where it ends. As soon as the bumps get big i check out.

If they would just release a consumer version of the IQ440 ...please.

A lot of variables and opinions there.
Besides, what percentage of the avg. persons trail rides contains "big bumps?" I'll bet no more than 20%. The other 80% you're lookin at the Dragon's snowflap. :whatever:
