Hi Gang,
I have succesfully moved my 440 motor into a 1981 jag from a 1976 panther. I have had a post in the arctic cat forum.
I used the belt that was with it, but it is a bit tight. I searched some post and never came up with much, other than someone talking about clutch adjustment bolts to loosen or tighten the belt or the distance between?
I am not sure if it has it on it or not, but the belt is too tight right now and smokes a big when idiling and the belt moves when you pull to start, so i think i need a bigger belt. How can i measure what I have, and if I am pulling the track when pullstarting, what kinda of addition to the belt length will i need approximately. Thanks
