Chassis Repair

hey guys i just bought a 93 xlt chassis im gonna be using as my drag chassis but it has a few minor problems the tunnel is straight and all but where those suspension brackets mount on the sides of the tunnel at the rear the suspension came loose and hammered that bracket into the ground causing the rivet holes to stretch in a long oval on both sides is this fixable i was thinking about getting the holes filled with weld and redrilling them any one else have any ideas thanks, mitch

id say just weld in the holes grind it out to look half decent and drill new holes it would take 2 to 3 hour at most if you have someone helping you or you should also weld a piece of sheet metal on the inside to add strength fill in the old holes and grind it all out and redrill hope you have a welder or a friend that does

unless you want to do it for looks I would just drill some new holes
