Do the Doo 06-13-2006, 10:19 AM I stay away from the Canadian Tire, The brand Walmart is selling is pretty good. I have several Campbell pnumatic tools as well as Craftmans. I just got the three for one deal from Sears for a Finished nailer, brad nailer and stapler. The finshed nalier has worked out excellent. The Sears compressor that sledHeadDude is showing is a 33 gal tank with 6Hp motor. I have this, but it takes a lot of electricity to run it, you have to have a 30 amp breaker for this compressor, other wise the motor will not turn on and you will here a Huming noise which is not good. You can burn the controls out with a lack of juice. It is loud and not very mobile though it has wheels. Go with the Walmart deal. That compressor is much more mobile or look for the sears deal where they may have a pancake compressor. The 33 Gal is for air guns, air ratchets, cutting tools, grinders....tools that need consistant 120+ PSI to work. Nailers need 100psi or less to work and the air demend is not consistant like a cuttingtool.
Hope this helps
cooley 06-13-2006, 11:27 AM i dont need one that big SHD. lol
thanks Do, i was leaning toward the walmart one, i guess at $97 cdn for the set i can go wrong. looks like a good deal
CORY9 06-13-2006, 12:33 PM Couldn't get the link to work, but I buy the majority of my tools at Canadian Tire. Their return policy is second to none and great sales. My only advice is do NOT buy the Jobmate brand, it's the lowest grade.
Downriver Thunder 06-13-2006, 12:50 PM I already had a big compressor and a small pancake compressor. I picked up the nailers, (framing, finish, brad and stapler), off of Ebay, Bostich refurbs that look and work like brand new for dirt cheap pricing.
revrnd 06-13-2006, 01:09 PM I'd go w/ the CH compressor. I have a couple, their sizes escape me right now. The smaller 1 is a lot noisier than the larger compressor, different style of actual "compressor".

I only paid $199.00 for it in the scatch and dent room. I wasn't in the market
for one that BIG either but it was a must buy for me.
Good luck with youir decision!

hey not a bad deal then, i am heading to halifax this weekend (2hours away) and they have a sears bargin shop like that there, i may have to take a look when i go.
i know they have stoves and fridges pretty cheap so they may have some compressors.
Corey i know to stay away from Jobmate, its cheap for a reason. the only thing i have that is jobmate is my tree clippers which i bought for 17 (it had the small hand one with it) the next day they were selling them for 7.99
thanks for the info guys
FreezerBurnt 06-13-2006, 03:56 PM Keep feeding the Chinese :(
Its sad today everything is made in china
I am guilty of buying the stuff but try to avoid when possible which in itself is impossible :p

Yep, one of the reasons I buy the majority of tools there

i think it might be a toss-up between powerfist and jobmate :D
personally i just buy airtools off the snapon truck, or from ingersoll-rand. crappy tire has a good return policy, but when tools are breaking it's not really convienent to always be going to CT!
my compressor is a cambellhausfeld 6.5hp w/60gal tank, extreme duty. 12 yrs old and no problems whatsoever.

poor farmer/logger 07-06-2006, 02:21 PM Just a word of advice here, what ever you buy make sure it's oil lubricated. Those oil less air compressors are just noisy pieces of junk. When it comes down to it pretty much all of the compresors out there are made by a couple of companys. Others buy them up put there labels on them and resell them as thier product.

cooley 07-06-2006, 05:13 PM yeah i decided to get a King compressor. our local hardware stores had it
