I'm venting here...bought a home a year ago w/the warranty. The A/C went out yesterday so my wife called the warranty company, and after holding for about 10 minutes, they tell her someone will be out to look at it by Tuesday. I called them back and told them that was unacceptable, and that I knew of 2 seperate A/C guys that would be at my house w/in a couple hours, and that they had no right to make me wait 5 days for service. Finally they agreed to call a local shop and they will be at my house today. Sometimes you just gotta stand up for yourself, 'cause no
one else will.

Sorry to vent,
Jim

jim,
the company does not know the two rules of retail.

1. the customer is always right.

2. if the customer is wrong read rule number 1.

Exactly Paul, I've been in retail all my life, and I've always worked by that motto. That's why I get pissed when I'm treated like this.

The problem lies in the fact its a warranty not a service issue so they'll try and make you feel like they're doing you a favor when it fact its something your entitled to. ???

I'm so sick of using the A/C. I almost cheered when it finally cooled down enough to shut it down and open the house up. I stuck a fan in the window to force the nice fresh cool outside air though the house. Best sleep I've had in quite a while. I had thought that we were going to be able to shut it down for the season a couple of weeks ago. :cussing: tropical storms pumping that humid warm air up here.

After getting jerked around so many times about warranties, I changed my rules for shopping about 1o or 12 years back now....and that is...... Never Ever buy any product............ boat, car, sled, microwave, dishwasher etc. etc. Because of the warranty!! Never Ever buy the extended warranty, The salesman starts his speal and i cut him off right there and say let's save your time and mine!!! So far I feel this policy has let me come out miles ahead.......most warranties are not worth the paper there written on!!! just my 2 cents.... Dooz......

I think you have that right there Dooz.
In the long run (unless you have bad luck) your better off without it.

Although, some people spend the money, just to have the peace of mind, and I guess that is worth something.

Amen...... I've always had two scenarios. Either what 've purchased has either broken right after purchase, or it's lasted almost forever. When they start getting pushy, I then tell them that if what I'm buying is so bad that I need their "extended warranty," that maybe I need to reconsider the purchase altogether. Shuts 'em right up every time. ;)
