: What Month Is The Best Time To Buy A New Sled?
Summit583guy 08-29-2006, 10:23 PM im looking at buying a new 2007 rev mxz 550 fan maybe with the X package, the dealer is selling regular 550 fans for $7549 ($9256 out the door) and the x package for $8349 ($10,176 out the door) i am more then likely finance the whole sled and put money down only for the taxes over 60 months, i dont know if im that price is a little high, what should i ak the dealer to toss in at that price? does a new sled come with a cover? what sort of promotions does ski doo have on right now? any help in purchasing would be great, ive never bought a brand new sled before onlyt used.

Typically the best time to buy is in the off season April - August. September comes around, people get the fever, showrooms fill up with new sleds, you will pay premium money Sept thru Dec.
Doo usually blows out in season leftovers in mid Feb. I bought a 03 Rev 600 in Feb 03 for a greatly reduced price.Of course that does not help you when the snow flies in Dec. :(
snagglepuss 08-30-2006, 08:58 AM I've found late August is the best time....just after the new sleds hit the floor is a great time to buy a new, non-current. Save tons of money, usually some factory deals with them, too.
CORY9 08-30-2006, 11:50 AM Always try to buy in late Feb early March as the season is winding down, usually some real bargains. Sleds don't come with a cover or spare belt, something you have to use as a bargaining chip.
As for Doo incentives maybe try ski-doo.com and see whats listed.
crnsuperduty 08-30-2006, 01:09 PM We bought our 06 MXZ 500SS for a real steal in late february last year. Like siad above, that doesn't help much in decmeber when we have snow, but something to keep in mind. I actually called my dealer yesterday about a trailer. He said the same sled I bought last winter is $400 more than I paid for it last year right now!!
snow4mydooplz 08-30-2006, 02:02 PM March - April.........Good deals to be had then.....! Problem is,, it makes for one looooooong summer. :bash:

FreezerBurnt 08-31-2006, 10:20 PM There is a dealer in S.Ont with 07 YES 0H SEVEN Super Sports 550s for $5200 :wow:
Sure it is NO Rev but $5200 for a new sled is cheap
Compare that to the $7500+ you mentioned of the Rev 550
Got to think long and hard on this IMO

iammxz800 09-07-2006, 08:00 PM Call as many dealers as you can. Those prices are all list prices. Why do you want new? Even if you borrowed the money on a credit line for 6-8% interest, and bought privatel, you could save the GST and a little PST as well. You can buy a 06 500 SS for about $6500-$7000.
Buying privatley, July and August are always good, but anytime is good to nogatiate. You will get a better deal used.
I currently have 5 sleds, Just baought the last 2, ggod deals!!
BIG_MIKE59 09-15-2006, 10:05 PM well i purchased a 2006 1000 summit this last march 4th i paid 9100 for it. from november-january of the 05-06 winter the same sled was on the show room for 12000. it all depends on if u really want a new sled at the beginning of the winter or if you can wait until the end of the winter to purchase it. down part about waiting is that u cant ride a new sled til the end of the winter and it wont be a x package. the upside is you will save between 1500-2500 dollars and you can take that money you saved and buy the x package decals for 200 dollars and paint the hood to match for a 100 bux. so its up to you.
SLeDHeaDDude800 09-15-2006, 10:13 PM I purchased a 2005 Renegade 800 H.O. X April 1st, 2006 for $5800.00
800 miles!

Wow!, that's a good deal!. And you're right, it's no Rev, so anybody who doesn't like the cramped seating position of the Revs will be happy.
As for the best time to buy? The spring, March April. By now dealers have already paid the interest and storage for the sleds they have in stock and they're going to want to recoup that money. Get it in the spring though, and they don't mind shaving off a few hundred dollars cause it will save them from carrying that debt over the summer.
