I have a 96 xlt special, the motor was rebuilt and had a oil line added to the pto side of the engine for the bearing.The oil pump was upgraded and now I went through 1.5 gallons of oil in 300 miles,ant sugestions?

Check your oil pump adjustment. On the side of the pump is a small tick mark, that should line up with the pointer on the cable connection. Just follow the throttle cable down to the pump. If you had a shop do the rebuild, it is common practice to bump up the oil, especially for break in.
