I'm looking at a 99 Grand Touring 500 with 3500 miles on it for the wife and kid to ride. Before I buy it I'm going to do a compression test. What should it test at? Thanks
It all depends on the compression gauge, elevation, temperature etc...this is why I like cylinder leakdown test.
I would say above all make sure the cylinders are no more than 10% from each other.
115-130 is an ok figure to keep in mind but I've seen the same cylinder show 150 psi on one gauge and 110 on another gauge.
