im stuck on spliting my crankcase...i took off every bolt i can see but it seems like one side lifts up but the other one doesnt, then i try the other side and it lifts up but then the other side goes back down...

i left the cluch and the magneto on....does that really have to come off too?

You can leave the clutch if you want but, I would pull the mag. The cases will have to come straight up. try not to scratch or mark up the mating surfaces. it may be hard to get them to seal when you put it back together. DO NOT use rtv when you put it back together. Get the proper sealant from either your dealer of a bike dealership that deals with 2 strokes.

You have to pull the mag off cause the windings underneath are holding the top and bottom of the case together with it's mounting bolts. Take care when inserting the bolts for your puller into the mag rotor - the stator windings are right underneath and you don't want to score them or damage them in any way. Don't let the crank turn either while pulling it, usually that's what causes the damage to the stator (that and the bolt sticking through).

I agree. Take the clutch off too. It just makes it all that much easier. That way the case is stitting flat and not on the clutch.
