I've just insatlled a Cudney clutch kit in my 04 Gade and noticed the replacement secondary spring has no tab on it to lock it into the sheive. Also no information to what # on the helix I should line up with the opposite end of the spring? No information in service manual on the VSA clutch assembly. Previous clutces were lined up at B&2 for zero preload????

When the clutch is put back together should I pull the inside sheive in the direction of spring preload until the buttons start to engage the helix, then install on the jack shaft! Does it even matter! Pretty new at this cluthching business!

Any ideas? :bash:

The rer style clutch does not need to be preloaded as the older clutches did. They use side force instead of torsional force. Most all aftermarket springs that I have seen for this clutch does not have the tab for preloading
Put it all together. you can twicst the iner sheave till it touches the helix ramp buttons. Bolt it back on and reinstll the belt. check you belt deflection and adjust as necessary with the three little bolts and ramp ring on the outer sheave of the secondary clutch
