So, I went to Ontario on a couple trips this winter-with Pete/NY, his buddy Ray and some other guys (like IndyTrailMike). Had a wonderful time. I'd love to go to Michigan (U.P.) and some other places like Quebec. I met the representatives from the Swedish Snowmobile Association at the International Snowmobile Congress in Burlington, VT. last June-I'd love to ride Sweden one day - The Fantasy Trip.

So, like the header says, Where would you go on your fantasy snowmobile trip and where are you going this year?

Yeah-I'd like to ride my camp this year too if the snow gods permit.......

I will more than likely do my annual trip at Christmas to the upper lower of Michigan. Will be going to the UP to ride at the SW Charity Ride at the end of January. I am also sure I will make it back up to Michigan a couple of more times before the snow melts. I am crossing my fingers(not holding my breath) that I will be able to ride from the garage here some this year.
Rides in the future will include a trip to the New England States and out west somewhere.

Dream trips that are just out of reach right now would be Towgotee in Wyoming and Revelstoke, BC. :(

We are planning to head somewhere new this year though. Looking to head up to the Wawa area for some Ontario boondocking. I've never ridin outside of Michigan so this will be a whole new experience, hopefully the powder is as plentiful as I here.

Last year was a great year ... all that riding in and around the Muskokas, then off to Cochrane with the SW crew, then the ride in Revelstoke in April. I was truly blessed last year.

This year I'm sticking closer to home. My dogs are getting too old to leave alone so Sue-Anne and I rented a cottage in Muskoka for Jan and Feb (gimme a call if you're heading up!!) we can take the dogs with us and still get some great riding in.

Plus, as of right now, just bought an 05 600DSIGade for S-A, gonna have to haul in on the "trip" reigns .....

How about giving the SW ride a chance as your first U.P. ride?? Great opportunity to ride in the great conditions that the U.P. has to offer plus meet tons of great people. (Including one with a huge hat size :p )

you guys and gals will love revelstoke and or most places in b.c..went to panarama last winter and sledded at toby creek adventures. it was a blast. the guides where real cool for those who never ran a sled up high, such as myself,or at all. the wife being from switzerland is used too the mountains but was her first time sleddin. the guide stopped his sled at every single switchback,x ways, so auntie maddie would not run into trouble. this fellow was just awesome at it too. guess he's bin down that crazy river before. so, bet we'll be in b.c. again this winter or spring.

edit: one thing we found though was the heli skiers where getting irretated with sledders,i would imagine the fresh powder is not quite as fresh after a sled through it. no doubt though.they would like their part of the mountain.

Seems like Revelstoke is really popular. That's a long commute for me. But then again, so is Sweden! :-)

Would love to go back to WAWA again but with having to buy a $150.00 passport+$200.00 trail sticker along with a 12 hour drive I would have $500.00 into it and haven't even got on the sled yet.
Got a big group that goes out West every Jan. that drive out with their sleds in tow. Cant see going there in the middle of Jan. when riding here is great and then the big 24 hour drive and preparing the sleds for high alttiude. Renting and flying out in March would be a more senciable thing.
Oh crap, guess I will just sit home and hide in the closet. :whatever:

After a couple of sub par sledding seaons for me (mileagewise), I have every intention on breaking 2000 mile this year. I know a lot of you get that every year, but when I break 1000 its a good season and if I get that 1500 mark, it was an EXCELLENT season.
I know I will be attending the charity ride, and possibly in the area for the ride till you puke tour,,, dont know that I am gonna try the high mileage day,,,, I have a couple of buddies down here that are interested in doing a week in Newberry and another buddy who lives outside of Marquette who I would love to go stay with a while,,,,

As far as a dream ride,,, I would love to hit Cochrane sometime,,, the canyon looks absolutely awsome,,, I am sure I could take my short track out there and bury it,,, but I could bury it with a smile on my face. Would also like to make a trip sometime to Alaska. I think it would be awsome riding up in that area also.

Puree-

I rode form Kirkland Lake to Cochrane and back one day last season. It was great riding-I didn't bury my BIG HEAVY SHORT Track that day (though I did some other days..... ). About 285 miles that day. I'd like to do that again, but it's a long ride in the truck past lots of rideable snow......it was about 9 hours from the border crossing up to the lake.

One of two trips this winter will be to drive 17 hrs. north on I-75 untill it ends in Sault Ste. Marie. I have never had a reason to visit that area but now since I have become hooked on snowmobiling I would like to take a trip in that part of Canada. Maybe head over to Wawa, Hearst, Cochrane areas.
The other trip will be back to Cloyne,Whitney, Pembroke and around the Algonquin Provincial Park. Which ever place has the trails open 1st will be where I am headed first..
Last year was a beginner year because I only put on around 300 miles a trip for 2 trips. This year I want to up the milage to around 1,000 miles a trip and end up with 2,000. In other words I plan on doing some serious riding. This is my dream for the up and coming winter.
Lets all pray for some good snow so our dreams can become reality!
See Ya! Ronnie
