I see things about pilot skis that show pilot 5.7 and pilot 6.9 I think they are. What is the difference between 5.7 and 6.9? Carbide length? Which ones are on my Renegade X 1000? Thanks.

Width is the difference. The Pilot 5.7 is 5.7 in wide and the 6.9 is 6.9 in wide. Ones for powder and ones for the trails.

I've read reports that state the numbers refer to width and also read reports that state they refer to the weight of the skis.

The 5.7 is thought of as a trail ski and the 6.9 is thought of as mountain ski or a better flotation powder ski.

I can tell you that the 5.7 pilots work very well on my 06 mach z i came off a 2001 zx chassie with standard ski s and thats the first thing you will notice when you start to ride is the way the ski s work in the corners .

Just read a sled magazine artical that stated the numbers refer to both the width and weight of the ski. So a 5.7 weighs 5.7 LBS and is 5.7 inches wide.
Ditto for the 6.9's.
