I am trying to pull the carb from a 1997 Jag 440 and it is wedged between the airbox and the cylinder. I can not figure out how to remove the airbox. It feels pretty secure in place and it will not rock out like most do. Are there screws holding it in place?
Thanks!!!

You shouldnt have to remove the air box to take the carb off... just push down on the rubber boot that is around the carb that attaches to the air box. you can pop the boot out and then slide the carb off.. be sure to loosen the hose clamp on the engine side... this is done fairly easy... but putting it back on can be a little tricky. spraying some WD-40 on the boot with make it slide on and off a little easier as well.

Thanks Powerboy!!
I will give another try....I attempted that but didn't want to force it too much because I thought I was doing something wrong.

no thats about the only way. unless you have the plastic clips underneath the box. if the box is in two pieces you may be able to take it apart that way. Dont worry about braking the rubber. especially if you put some WD 40 first it will make it more flexible.
