They are planning on ending passenger service

They have been saying this for the last 10 years, I am not saying that it won't happen..With all the new roads being built ( loggers ) alot of the campers and sledders don't have to take the train to get to camp now...It would be a shame but I don't see it happening anytime soon...

Still going for this winter. I just got a email from a fellow sledder & he's booked a trip on it this winter.

We're thinking of using it next winter if we decide to attack the Manitouwadge/Longlac/Nakina area. Take the train to Hawk Jct or Lucville (Dubreuilville) & ride north, then back to the Soo.

A fun way to see the area.

The railway got a grant from the government, to upgrade cars, etc... The train will be around for a while yet ..........

Last Wednesday night 3 or 4 sledders (don't exactly remember) got off the train in Hearst. Thursday morning 7 sledders (including 3 from Wisconsin) loaded for the trip back to the Soo.
