Loaded a new set of maps to my gps, and realized about 3 or 4 counties in the UP did not transfer to the gps. When I pull the map set up in Mapsource, they are there with all the details. Thought the size of the mapset might be too large, so I deleted other counties and tried to reload, only to get the same results. Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do to correct?
thanks

Are you sure you're still not to big on the mapset size? I know my Rino 120 can only hold 8mb of maps... :lookaround:

THat's what I was thinking too Matt. But I went back in and deleted more counties and tried it again....still didn't work. I guess I'll build a new set from scratch and see what happens. I have a 64 mb card, and I think the set size is about 15 kb.

Try loading just one of the counties that you are having trouble with and see if it loads. This will rule out any errors with the img file. If it works try another county. If they all work they should load at the same time if you have enough memory.
The only Mapsource product I have had this trouble with is US Roads and Rec...I have 4 other Mapsouce products that work just fine. I have a 128 mb card and have tried loading different numbers of maps and anything over 100 maps start to not show...100 maps hardly puts a dent in the cards capacity. I did contact Garmin tech support and pretty much got a run around...at first they thought a bad cd or install, so reinstalled didn't help...then they thought a bad card, but I could load maps from any other Mapsource product up to the cards limit no problem...then they thought maybe my 276c was at fault but I could take the card out and put it in my 176 and i still had the same maps missing...tried loading the card by usb direct to gps and with data card reader, didn't make any difference...loaded just the single map that didn't appear in the multi-set map and it would display just fine so it wasn't a bad file...in end they said Roads and Rec has been discontinued and they couldn't help me.
See pictures...shows missing map on GPSr screen but shows up in the Map Information page and in Mapsource.

I was hoping you would chime in here. Your problem is identical to mine, and yes, I'm using the same software. I created a set with just the counties I'm having issues with, and they loaded fine. Created the complete set I want, clicking on these counties first thinking the system would dump the last counties if the memory was gone, but I got the same results. This really bothers me because I had these counties loaded last year with no problem. I think I do have another copy of Roads & Rec around here, I'll try that and see what happens.
I guess it's just time for me to update the software. What are you using now? I was scanning Garmin's site (for info, not that I would pay their prices) and can't really decide on what to get. Also looking to go with 128MB card, have 64 now, and they look to be going for $60 US.

I have City Select NA, Fishing Hot Spots, Topo Canada, US Roads and Rec, Canada Roads and Rec, US Topo plus 4 custom made maps (1 each from board members Reved, sledzeppelin and 2 of mine) loaded into Mapsource. I mainly use US Topo and Topo Canada and the custom made maps.
