I just picked up an Apex mtn and want to remove the warning decals. Any tried and true methods? Heat gun and patience?

I used a hair dryer to warm them up and peel. Some times if you get the right angle most of the glue will stay with the sticker. Then use wd-40 on a rag to clean up the left over glue . After that, wax or armor-all it and your good to go.

Snowmutt makes this sound easy...

Takes patience and elbow grease- my friend and I took every decal off his REV. We used a heat gun, then wd-40 with a rag.

I probably wouldn't use the heat gun if I were to do it again; it made the adhesive much stickier. A hair dryer to start it off then a quick rip would probably work best.

Good luck.

Use a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive and slowly peel the decal off, it is real easy. Then use Goo Gone to remove the remaining adhesive. A quick coat of wax and your ready to go.

DONT USE GOO GONE ON PAINTED SURFACES IT DULLS THE PAINT.

use WD40.

Heat gun or hair dryer, then WD40 has worked great for me in the past. But then again, if it was an Amsoil decal, I'd just leave it ...

it's almost a magic solvent. once a friend decided he was going to put a quart of oil in his car while wearing a new suit. how do those circumstances turn out? you guessed it, oil on the suit. i got the acrysol and wiped it off for him and the suit looks fine.

try peeling one of the corners off first and seeing if it comes without the glue. you can do this by only "slightly" heating up the sticker. do not get it hot otherwise the glue becomes soft and will more easily be left behind. if you can get it off without applying any heat it will come off better. I used to remove lettering off police cars when I was a detailer and I only used a heat gun under extreme sticker jobs.
