I am new to doing mods on sleds. I was wondering if someone could help me out. I would like to make some changes to my 97 Formula Z 583 clutch but i don't know what everything (springs, helix, weights, etc.) do or what it will change by changing them.

Do a search or just browse clutch tuning section. Thats what its there for. Lots of great info in there, someone has probably already asked your exact question. I have learned lots from here.

Purchase the Olav Aeen Clutch Tuning Handbook. It is a old book, but the concepts still apply.

Next, get your hands on a Doo race manual. Best money I ever spent on sledding. I dont know if the current versions deal with the older Formula secondary like that of your sled, may have to find one from the late 90s or 2000 that will cover everything that pertains to your sled.
