My hand warmers, low/high beam switch and fuel gage will stop and start working with out warning. The sled runs great, and i can not find any loose or frayed wires. Any suggestions ?

There was a problem with the wire harness under the motor on the 98's. It would rub on the frame. Skidoo had an update for it and some harnesses had to be replaced all together. That is where I would start. Hope it helps? You could probably ask your dealer about that update to be more specific.

Are you burning out headlight or tailight bulbs?, if you are, it could be your voltage regulator. Voltage regulator is located on the belly pan right side below all those exhaust pipes, I had to replace mine last year.

i have the same sled with the same problem no hand warmers, high low switch and fuel guage not working

Is this only happening at idle or cruising? If at idle don't worry about it. If it is at cruising speed, it could be the recall. The recall in short is what"rock port" said, to confirm if it is done simply look at the wire harness going to the cab at the front left hand side. It will be rapped with plastic covering all taped up with black electrical tape. good luck...joe :cool:

yeah i had 3 ck3's and all of them did that.The wire harness is rubbed through right where it goes up the hood if you look right where the pipes are it is rubbing on the pipe and is shorting out.

same situation. i went up riding thi weekend found out that my wires on the hood where rubibg the pipe and burned them and all my lights burnet out bought new light installed them and 30 sec later they blew out agian and my tail light is supper bright i am going to replace the voltage regulater now and see if that solves my problem
