I turned 18 last December, if you don't believe me do a search, I think Mr. Yarek made the report.
Anyways, I registered to vote and am looking at the current Michigan Proposals and #1 caught my eye. As I understand, this is a good measure for recreational sporting like snowmobiling. Does anyone feel differently?
Since this is a political issue, it's delicate and I'd rather not have to make moderators work; please keep this topic clean and calm.

From all that I've read there really isn't anyone trying to push the no vote, its basically a technicality vote.

Without all the unecesary details what is the vote about and how will it affect snowmobilers.

Basically it just ensures that when any organized group like hunters, snowmobiliers, boaters or whatever the group collects money that is earmarked for those groups that it can not be diverted to any other funds. Both Dems and Republicans support this as neither have diverted any money out of these specific funds in many years. Its just more of a safegaurd to ensure that doesn't happen in the future.
On a side note this sounds like a no brainer but there is a part to this that often goes overlooked, as told to me by my brother (renegademike) who works for the state. Basically with this proposal the state could no longer take money from special funds and divert it into the general fund, but they can hold up money that comes to groups like snowmobiliers from the general fund. So even though we get to keep the money that we pay into for trail permits, we could loose out on an even bigger portion that the state gives us out of the general fund. Don't know if this makes sense but I guess we will always know that the state will have the final say. :slick:
