WHAT IS THE BEST CLUTCH KIT TO GO WITH, I HAVE A 2002 MXZ800 WITH RER,V-FORCE 3 AND MILD PORT WORK . I BOUGHT A HEEL CLICKER A FEW YEARS AGO FOR ANOTHER SLED I GOT RID OF. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT HEELCLICKERS ARE JUNK. I ALREADY HAVE IT BUT WOULD JUST AS SOON BUY SOMETHING BETTER IF I NEED TO. I DO MAINLY SEMI AGGRESSIVE TRAIL RIDING.

I have had good succcess with the Team clutch, but they will not shift past a 1:1 ratio. Gearing up a tooth is needed to get the potential

On the 02, in my opinion, stock works the best. We tried many different setups and came right back to stock. Just trying to save you a buck. May have to add a little pin weight for the port job though. :D

and in your situation, heel clickers sucked but in my situation heel clickers rock

you must have tuned them wrong.there's more too it than just installation.
before you give up,you had mild porting which you forgot that should have moved your shift speed up according to your added horsepower. you probably ended up with worst performance didn't you.
heel clickers work very different from ordinary kits.you got too be on the ball or you'll hate them.they run at 96-97 grams( tra3 kits).may have to change springs for what the cluthes need. ya can't just sit there and expect things ta work out.remember, and not many will tell you this, if you increase horsepower you are automatically geared higher and you may have to remove a tooth from top sprocket, maybe not. never seen a kit shift as hard as clickers. with a roller secondary which has reduced impendance they just plain rock.menchanical advantage is what these deal with.

oh, keeping your clutches shifting at 1:1 gives you roughly 5-7 more horespower than shifting to .8:1 because you are on a better part of the effeciency curve with your cluthes, according to oleav aaen.
and if you have pipes, starting out at 200 rpm less than your shift speed won't hurt either. you'll gain the jump on your buddies becuase you are working with the pipe temp. olav aaen's books are good and i strongly agree with him.

edit; check out sledgear.com for more info on heel clickers, they expalin eveything better than i can

Uncle Neil,
Would you have any tips on setting up a '00 Mach Z with the Heelclicker 2 clutch kit? You seem to know more than most on this particular kit.
My machine is basically stock other than V-Force 3's I bought at the same time as the clutch kit. I plan on installing the reeds first.
While you are at it (he he!) how would you change the set up if as well as V-Force 3's, there was some port work done, say with Racelogic's Sport Port templates?
Any of your input would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Brett.
