I was wanting some ideas about what kind of heater would be best to put in my 26' enclosed trailer. I thought about a rv furnace but then need a battery all the time for the fan. And then there is a radiant heater. That I would think would be the best. But Iam looking for any advice from you guys that have heaters in your trailers. Thanks

Being from alaska, I'm sure you're familiar with Monitors and Toyos... I believe that they make a battery powered (small battery for startup only) heater made by on or the other which is made for cabins... if your truck is diesel, that's a plus.
Another option is a "Yukon Stove" that the military uses up here for tents... no electricity whatsoever, runs on diesel...ask around at surplus stores.

Keep us updated on what you decide on, I've wanted to do something similiar for the last few season in my 4 place enclosed. You have all that space there, why not have it all set up as a mobile heated shop  Just in case of corse :p
I have been leaning towards just using a 12 volt propane radiant heater but haven't really settled on anything specific.

I have a MrHeater Big Buddy I've been using in my garage. It works pretty decent in the garage but I have such a high ceiling being its a converted grainery so I'm sure it would alot better in a trailer which I plan to use it for also. You put 2 coleman tanks in it or use a big one and runs on batteries for the fan.

Thats funny I was just checking into this unit online at Bass Pro  . From what I read you can mount it right to the wall which would be good for the trailer.
I was considering a small gernerator with a small salamander type heater but this seams like a much simpler and cheaper alternative.

That's what we use...we've been thinking of some type of wall mounted unit, but haven't given it a whole lot of thought yet.

I think this is what I'm going to use, the wall unit I want to buy will run off of 4 D cells or AC so I was hoping to just use a real small coverter to avoid the batteries.

 We use a kerosene heater in ours. We leave the doors open when lighting and shutting it off as that is when you get a bit of odour. Once the flame has been adjusted it burns pretty clean. It"ll heat up 420sq ft with no problem and run about 18hrs between fills. If you have vents just pop them open or leave a door ajar and you should"nt have a problem. We have a carbon monoxide detector next to it and its never gone off. SWRules
