you should probably just leave it as is.

That sled will be INSANELY loud with and aftermarket silencer.

I purchased a 96 Storm that came with one and had to pay for a new stock silencer because it was so damn loud.

You'll make yourself deaf, but more importantly, you'll be ruining things for the rest of us and causing trails to close.

Just as an FYI, it is illegal to modify the exhaust system on a snowmobile that is ridden on OFSC trails in ontario.

If the OPP open the hood, which they are entitled to do if they suspect you have a modified exhaust, they can fine you on the spot.

Spend your money on clutching, suspension work, reeds etc.

All of those mods will make your sled perform much better than slapping on an aftermarket silencer.

A loud exhaust, especially just the silencer, offers no gain in performance, it just makes noise.

And the other thing is to look for a trail can, do not get a race can, they are way too loud.

In that case,

A Call to the manufacturer would be a goot place to start, but I wouldn't take it as gospel.

I'd suggest installing it, and using the current(stock?) jetting and testing from there.

Most sleds are jetted pretty fat from out of the box, you can usually get away with it with a simple canister slot, but you're probably looking at some very cold temps so you should do some plug chops to confirm.

Just for the record, in Ontario, it is illegal to modify your stock exhaust system from the factory supplied parts anywhere off your own property or a privately owned race track.
Not just when you're riding on OFSC trails.

That section is enforced under the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act which applies anywhere in Ontario.

You should not need to do a thing for just the silencer. Pipes are a different story. I have one on my XCR 800 and I have an EGT guage and there was no difference in the temps with the stocker or aftermarket. But remember they are illegal, but that doesn't stop hundreds of them being sold each year in Ontario.
