JUST TOOK OUT MY NEW TO ME 1999 ZRT800. *RODE GREAT, BUT WHEN I WOULD TRY TO EXCEL IT HAS DEAD SPOT IN IT. *ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO DIE. *BUT IF I FEATHER IT A LITTLE THEN IT WILL COME OUT OF IT. *WHEN I'VE GOT THE RPM'S UP A LITTLE THEN IT RUNS GOOD. *

I'VE CLEANED THE CARBS, NEW GAS, NEW PLUGS, JUST GOT THE DRIVE CLUTCH REBUILT. *THIS SLED HAS ONLY 2500 MILES ON IT

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREAT!

Here are some ideas,
1. Impulse hose from crank could be cracked, located under the PTO side carb?
2. Possible reed damage?
3. Would not hurt to clean or set up carbs again?
4. Fuel pump?
5. Fuel filter? dirt or filter to small?
6. Gas tank vent hose?
Just a few to look at.
Good luck.

Sounds like your pilots may be way tool lean. Has anyone changed them for some reason? Did you get them clean when the carbs were apart. They can get plugged with varnish real easy. Remember, the screws for these are FUEL screws, not air screws. The more you turn them out the richer it will get.

I had the same problem last year. I found that the mains weren't cleaned out good enough, and i also had 1 broken reed, fixed that and ran like a top. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
