hey there i bought a 93 exciter 2 570 in the off season the guy i bought it from had it to the yam dealer who told him he needed a stator @ a cost of $500 so he decided to sell..
i took a chance on not knowing anymore then that i asked him "so you had no spark?" he had no clue other then it didnt start...
yesterday i took it apart and replaced the stator i put it all back together and pulled it one time with plugs out to see if i had spark ..sure enuf there it was blue as could be so i install the plugs prime her up but no go(a pop or backfire every 50 pulls maybe)
i spent about 2hours pulling it over,priming and checking spark. finally i got someone else to give it a pull so i could get a closer look at the spark. when the engine 1st breaks compression theres a burst of spark and imdeditly stops this seemed consistant on every pull.
this sled is new to me and i have no idea what might be causing this i was hoping someone may have had a simmalr problem, its like somthing cuts the spark imededitly after its inital rotaion any help will be greatly apreaciated thank you advance..

oh by the way ive ben doing alot of searching and reading about spark problems and problems with he TORS system and im pretty sure its been bypassed ..althogh i cant seem to find any wires on the carb could someone please point out he location or maybe have a pic.
does the tors have anything to do with spark or just fuel(carb)
Anyone know how i might test some componts coil ,cdi ,stator ,pulse coil? also does anyone have a wiring diagram for this sled
