Time will tell. I need to kill a couple of credit cards before I can commit to any winter trips.

I'm looking at getting out of debt asap. Things going on here are drawing question to our long term futures. Right now I'm in a position to bust ### and pay off the bills. Then I can take all the time I need to pick and choose my next job and location. So, for now, I'm hunkering down and gettin' busy. :hallo8:

Here at GM in Oshawa we've got OT coming out the wazoo. 3 Saturdays a month even when we're on nights. Hopefully by working them now, I'll be able to blow them off when the snow comes.

In my department, I'm the only sledder & they'll let a couple of guys take off on Saturdays.

wow, no O.T. laws in wis. or what?here in In. anything over 40 hrs in a week they have to pay time and a half.our union contract gets us time/half for anything over 8hrs in one day all day sat. and double time on sunday.salary guys even get O.T pay for anything over 40 per state law.wolfman you sound like your working with idooski that is his hours. :p

dooman..salaried employees do not get overtime..they get paid a flat weekly rate regardless of the amount of hours worked..its legal but not always fair.

:withstupid:

Definitely not always fair.

But hey the year end bonus should make up for it. LMFAO

Yeah, I'm salaried too. It kinda sucks, especially when there's a pay freeze. No raise this year. :cussing:
Oh well, I guess I'm on the internet enough to make up for it. LOL ;)
I wish I could work some OT so I could get some bills paid off. Got a guy coming tonight to possibly buy my sled, so that should help, but not what I really wanted to do. Got a baby coming in March and too many credit card bills. Gotta cut somewhere. Maybe I'll get back into it again in a couple of years with a new sled. There's some pretty good deals out there right now on new stuff.

Rottie read the post.where do you live?here the state law says they will be paid time and one half for every hour over 40. period.I can tell you my supervisor is salary and I am not ,but he does get O.T. for more than 40,per state law.I can bet the corporation is not doing it to help him out.

Here @ GM in Oshawa, OT for salaried employees varies. Above a certain level, it's considered part of the job. Mind you the money they're making for pushing pencils & making stupid decisions & comments during breakdowns, you shouldn't feel sorry for them.

If you happen to be a farm worker, your overtime startes after 48 hrs(sucks right)
