i got a 98 mach 1 and what i think are jaws race pipes(got them used thats what the guys said they were) i got a stock set up from jaws which iam using but i think the clutching could be improved alot more. with hollow steal pins ive gone up to 12 grams, 24/43 gearing and 1.25 ice ripper thats about it everything else is stock. i just need to know what i could do to get it out of the hole better not lookin for too much top end. i weigh about 175 with all my gear and it needs to turn about 9000rpm mostly running it on snow pack.

Here's a setup that worked real good all around, on my '97 Mach 1 with the Jaws trail pipes and V- Force reeds. You should also make sure that your squish is at least 0.070"-0.073" so that you don't detonate at top RPM's. I ran 450-460 main jets in the stock roundslide carbs. Here's the clutch setup: Red Bomb. primary spring (230-410), 286 stock ramps, 16.4gram stock pins, clicker 3-5 to get about 9300-9400 rpm (on your machines tach), Beige stock secondary spring, 48-44 or 44 Helix from Bombardier, set at 21-23lbs. or B-6.
If your using an aftermarket tach, like I was using a Digitron, then click for 8900-9100 range, but stock tach will read anywhere from 200-600rpm high at 9000rpm. Also make sure motor and clutches are well aligned, cause at those high rpm's, belts will wear quickly when out of alignment.
Hope this helps.
