It will out last your ability to pound on it. You're going to have about 8" of travel there, and rather cheap shocks, but go ahead and pound away, it'll be your back that gives out before that suspension does.

One thing to watch for if you do ride hard...check the rivets on the body. The old Indy's will eventually get loose, and once it develops a bit of play it gets worse fast. Once you get play there you have to start drilling out rivets and replacing them. Not a small job.

Depending how old your skid is and how much maintenance its had, you will want to check all the bolts and just give it a good once over, you probably want to lock tight them too, i had a couple loosen up on me last winter and they stretched the whole in the rails and made a real mess, it was mostly my fault though. Anyways just remeber, those old sleds can only take so much bottoming out.

Im not sure what you mean by the main pivot, but i have never heard of anything breaking right off, where the front arm mounts to the rails, is a good spot to watch though, for the stretching of the holes... Basically anything you ride hard will break, but if you want to ride ditches and jump lots the xtra ten is the way to go, it will hold up much better, and the ride is wayyyyyy better.
