The ol' El Tigre isnt doin so good. I just put new skis on it, fixed some other odds and ends. It just snowed today (it wasn't even supposed to!), drove it 10 feet and it sounded like it was runnin on one cylinder, After I checked the plugs (which were fine) it looks like the exhaust is making problems, in stead of the exhaust going out the pipe, it flows out of every opening in the hood, right were the exhaust mounts on the engine it has a little space (only the right cyl). ok easy fix tighten it up, maybe put new exhaust gaskets in, but what is it that makes the really loud noise, it sounds like backfire the one cylinder. If so is that a different bigger problem or would just new gaskets and snuging it up solve the problem?

You didn't state if you have ridden the sled at all this season. If it is just coming out of storage I would be suspicious that something has made a home in the pipe. Are you getting exhaust out of the muffler, or is it all coming out of the pipe to manifold connection?

This is the first snowfall, I havent put a single mile on it. I got the skis on the other day and drove it to the back yard. From there it sat (only a day) until it snowed. When it was running in the shed and driving it to the back yard the whole sled was fine, exhaust was straight out the downpipe. There is still exhaust coming out of the downpipe(left cylinder exhaust i believe) the right cyl has a space and all of its exhaust is leaving right at the exhaust-engine connection. Its 2 seperate exhaust pipes, and the left seems to be fine.

any chance your backfiring is a carb problem,,, running really really rich???
Not sure why it didnt smoke coming from the garage to the backyard and then after sitting one day it smokes out of that one side,,,,

I looked a little bit closer (should have done this long before the post) the exhaust lost its 2 springs that hold it to the mounting flange and the pipe just popped out of that flange, shove it back in and it runs great....problem solved, thanks for all the info, sorry i didnt notice it before, lol.
Now i just have to pick up a couple springs
