How tight should the spider and main mounting bolt be torqued at on the primary clutch?
A Polaris dealer had tightened the lock nut, but the spider was barely hand tight. This could've led to problems...

Both torque specs are 200 ftlbs. however, the older clutches like those were prone to spinning on the shaft from the fixed sheave. the shafts on the older clutches are a press fit, the newer ones are splined. mark the taper area and the fixed sheave on the backside of the clutch before you torque them. it's always a good idea to mark the positions of the moveable and fixed sheaves compared to eachother as well before disassembly. that way when you torque them back down, you will ensure you can align them again when you torque the spider. the marks should be within an inch of each other. but yes, 200 for both. any questions, just ask. -polaris doc
