My Cougar has plastic side covers below the cowling.
I cannot get them to look good by cleaning or armour-all etc.
they just keep fading to their old dull black look,any thing short of painting them to make them look nice,I've got the rest of the sled looking really nice,these are the one ugly spot

I have used a heat gun to pull the color back out on my pre-formed Chevy mudflaps. I'm not saying it will work on your side covers, but it might be worth a careful try.

i had a bottle called color back that was for plastic but i cant remember where i bought it, try looking for it, it was a red bottle and would do miracles for fadded plastic !!!

I think it was called Back to Black, and Mothers makes it... it SMELLS TERRIBLE.... ;)

you could try auto zone too they have stuff like that
