Twisted the left side A-arms on my 06 Attak the first day out. I admit I was riding hard, pounding the whoops catching lots of air with a couple of nose landings etc. The twisting got progressively worse as the day went on so it obviously wasn't the result of a single impact. Well, I'm half way through the second season and I've replaced the front end 3 times. The dealer keeps telling me I'm too hard on it or I've hit something, as the A-arms are plenty strong and nobody else is having problems. I have since reinforced my upper a-arms by welding in some gussetting. Imagine my surprise when I walk into a dealer last week and see a 2007 Apex with extensive gussetting on the upper a-arms. I'm ticked. Isn't the reenforcement of the upper a-arms by Yamaha on the 07 models an admission that they were not sufficient in the first place? Is anyone else having problems with the weak front end on their Apex/Attak?

Can't tell you if you are the only one but many have commented on what will happen to reliability as all manufacturers try hard to reduce sled weight. The average trail rider may get away but the off trailers will find the problems. Just read a thread on another site about the Yammi 'w' arms in the rear suspension letting go, a gusset was also the cure.

Curious, was the dealer doing the repairs under warranty?

No, I was always told it was abuse and did the repairs myself. I even tried Pioneer performances Chrome-moly front end kit which was much lighter than stock, but proved to be even less durable. It's back to stock for me but i am going to order 07 a-arms with the gussetting instead of the 06's.
